Organisation

Fleuroselect is managed by a Board of Directors which defines the organisation's goals and strategy. Two Board Members are appointed by each of the Business Units. A President is appointed by Annual General Meeting and the Board appoints an ex-officio Treasurer.

Specialised technical committees advise the Board on the Gold Medal & Novelty trials and the FleuroStar Contest. The four Business Units deal with specific issues within the industry. The Secretariat run by the Secretary General ensures Fleuroselect's daily management and the promotion of all activities.

B.U. Home gardening

The Home Garden Association has been created under the Fleuroselect umbrella to promote home gardening as fun, easy, economical and valuable. The annual home Garden Conference, an open event for professionals in home gardening, takes place in September at a different location every year. Participants from the Home Gardening sector enjoy company visits, inspiration from expert speakers from inside and outside the sector and networking opportunities between suppliers customers.

B.U. Breeders

Breeders of new seed and cutting flower varieties annually meet during the Breeders and Young Plant Producers Conference. An open event for breeders and young plant producers. Organised in December, this annual conference offers a platform for breeding and production related topics for professionals in ornamentals from the entire industry.

B.U. Production & Distribution

Breeders of new seed and cutting flower varieties annually meet during the Breeders and Young Plant Producers Conference. An open event for breeders and young plant producers. Organised in December, this annual conference offers a platform for breeding and production related topics for professionals in ornamentals from the entire industry. Furthermore, a biennial survey of cutting and seedling sales to growers, by the leaders in the industry is conducted in the major European markets. The study provides the participants with valuable information on the total market in each country versus their won sales volume for over 35 major bedding plant crops. 

B.U. Protection

In collaboration with Royalty Administration International (RAI), an annual campaign is organised to detect and eradicate illegal propgation of legally protected vaieties in several countries. Random audits are carried out on growers to determine whether the number of plants in production is in line with quantities ordered.
