Introduction

Invitation

Dear colleague,

Fleuroselect is delighted to invite you to its 9th Home Garden Conference that will take place on Thursday 27th & Friday 28th September 2018 in the Netherlands. The conference has been planned to coincide with the Seed meets Technology trade show in the Enkhuizen area. This runs from Tuesday 25th and we hope that you will move on after your visit to our Conference. With so many companies to visit in the Seed Valley, we have planned a whistle stop tour of the Enkhuizen area to visit Prudac together with Sluis Garden Seeds, PanAmerican Seed where a Fleuroselect outdoor trial is planned, and ABZ Seeds who is celebrating a successful 25 years in the business.

We will also call in at the new Sow to Grow education experience opened earlier this month which brings together the history of the seed production with the modern industry of today. The conference will also give us the opportunity for another celebration as 2018 is Hem Zaden’s centenary and a presentation will tell us all about the company’s history.

Each year we aim for a general conference theme and this year it is “Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Future” referring both to the consumers of our products and employees in our industry. For all of us who are young at heart IVN (organisation connecting people and nature), is putting on an outdoor activity “in the eyes of a child’’ in the beautiful IJgenweis Streekbos. This is a nature conservation area close to Enkhuizen and also the location for our main networking dinner.
We have a number of top speakers lined up for you. Erwin Cardol will explain how Seed Valley is reaching out to students and young professionals,  Scott Mozingo is joining us from Burpee in the U.S. to tell us about product, social media and millennials and Chris Collins from the U.K. will talk about gardening with children from his role as ambassador for the HTA Children’s Garden week and his experience as a Children’s T.V. broadcaster.

Hotel

The trade show in Enkhuizen has meant that hotel space in the town was limited, so we have booked accommodation this year in Van der Valk hotel in Volendam. The standard and service offered by the van der Valk chain always more than meets our requirements. The hotel is approx. 40 minutes from Enkhuizen and 40 minutes from Schiphol Airport. The hotel has opened a booking site for our group and you can book directly with them online.
